At GAC, members and staff, working together, do all the work that is necessary to sustain the GAC community. GAC currently has 3 work units: the Admin Unit, the Culinary Unit, and Member Services.
Admin Unit
In the Admin Unit, members and staff manage the finances; handle fund development activities and record-keeping; manage a reception area, coat check, cashier, and members' bank; assist with public relations; as well as conduct research and write reports to funders.
Culinary Unit
In the Culinary Unit, colleagues prepare and serve breakfast and lunch every day and dinner several times a week. This unit is also known for its superb catering of Clubhouse events. Meals are nutritious and attractively prepared.
Member Services Unit
Colleagues in the Member Services Unit run a successful employment program, manage a lending library, publish both a monthly and a daily newsletter, maintain our employment data base and keep track of members’ earnings, run three work support groups for employed members and one support group for students, assist members to research educational offerings, scholarships, and financial aid, arrange for tutoring and mentoring, and celebrate vocational and educational achievements.
